It is some 34Km South west of the NCAA authority Headquarters. The nearest hospital to it, in the District, is Wasso Hospital, which is 230 km away and is the District hospital again belonging to the Roman Catholic church.

The hospital has developed to the current status from a TB treatment center in the early seventies through the effort of both the church and Austrian Government and it has seventy-two beds. It gives all the essential services by a Registered hospital in this country serving mostly the pastorals Maasai in the area.

The pattern of disease remained the same as in most parts of the country. Malaria, Respiration infection and (TB in particular) topping the causes of ill health and death. In children, Malaria, worms and Malnutrition are the main causes of ill health and death.

The main constraints to the maintenance of services is financial and this is made worse by the poor economy of the people. Even with financial constraints in existence, the existing facilities and with the help of the Flying Medical Services reasonable services are offered.
